I feel like everytime I do a post based on a rap song, I surprise everyone. I’m sure “Diss Track Summer” threw a few people for a loop when I came out with the KDot (Kendrick Lamar). For those who are new here, I’m “white washed” according to most people despite being the first one in my cohort to be out there protesting against racial inequality in the wake of national unrest. I’m convinced they call me “white washed” because I can read and shit. I’ve always been roasted for my extensive vocabulary. But I digress.

Every day I watch the news, it’s something that makes me dread going outside like the GOP trying to hurl the United States toward authoritarianism and take away certain people’s rights. I know it’s going to be some bullshit. But then I walk outside and my neighbors are friendly, the birds are chirping, butterflies float by and the sun is shining.

I know getting on my soapbox is frowned upon. But some things are just too important to be silent about. I wish there wasn’t a mainstream political party running on taking America back to the 1950s or possibly earlier, but that’s where we are. Their VP candidate JD Vance is demonizing childless women and saying they shouldn’t be able to vote because they “don’t have a stake in the future of this country”. Last time I checked, I’ve paid taxes in this country and the church who wants to tell everyone else what to do with their lives and shape public policy (which is antithetical to the Constitution) is tax exempt.

Mr. Diet Mountain Dew claims Democrats are “anti-family”. How can the Democrats be anti-family when it’s the party that expanded the child tax credit in 2021? Yes, President Joe Biden did that. Families didn’t even have to wait until they filed their taxes to receive partial payments of the child tax credit.

Meanwhile, the extension of it that the Democrats proposed passed in the House of Representatives with bipartisan support but is currently stuck in the Senate where the childless cat lady comment guy currently works representing the state of Ohio because the GOP is refusing to give Biden a “political win” ahead of the election. They’re also against universal pre-school funding to help struggling families or single parents that can’t afford pre-school enrollment. So who is really anti-family? Being pro-family is not being homophobic or forcing child birth on women that potentially cannot have them due to medical reasons or just simply don’t want them and denigrating them for not having children.

Being pro-family would be extending those child tax credits, funding school lunches for underprivileged kids whose parents are struggling and not disparaging stepparents or adoptive parents like Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg. I have a stepmother and a stepfather who I love like my biological parents. They’ve been in my life since I was 9 years old and 12 years old respectively. They ARE parents. I also have four wonderful half-sisters and one stepsister who I am grateful for every day because of my blended family. Who are you to tell someone what their family should look like?

Not to mention, the former guy — aka Mango Mussolini — aka America’s Hitler per his VP pick — has told an audience of “Christians” that if they vote just this once, they’ll never have to vote again because they will have “fixed it so good” there won’t be a need for future elections. That’s a dictatorship. That’s not what the founding fathers wanted.

Just earlier this month, we celebrated Independence Day — a day commemorating our independence from Great Britain and King George III. We fought against having a king and now the Republican party wants to install one because they don’t like the truth taught about slavery/segregation/white mobs destroying black towns (Tulsa Massacre, Rosewood Massacre, etc.), the LGBTQ+ community living freely, and women being able to make their own reproductive decisions?

I’m not surprised on that last one since Project 2025 aims to stop women from being able to leave abusive marriages by prohibiting divorce. Women are subservient to men in North Korea run by Kim Jong Un, who Orange man heaps praise on and domestic violence runs rampant there. Given my own experience with emotional abuse and gaslighting over the last year (that’s typically the first step before physical abuse), this tugs at my heartstrings. I couldn’t imagine being married to that man and not being able to leave because the law says I have to stay with my tormenter. The fuck?

If you haven’t read Project 2025, it’s a 922 page blueprint on how to turn the United States into a dictatorship with Mango Mussolini at the helm created by the Conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation. He can’t claim he doesn’t know anything about it since folks who worked in his administration are authors on this plan. Also, Mr. “Childless Cat Ladies” wrote the forward for the book version of this authoritarian wet dream where women are subservient to men, women are unable to vote, women are barefoot and pregnant, books are banned, education is propagandized, and the LGBTQ+ community is unable to exist freely and love who they want to love. I have a trans cousin. I have gay friends. I have gay family members. I’m a woman and person of color. I’m also someone who doesn’t subscribe to organized religion which seems to be the enemy of democracy at this point and time.

All of these things are being pushed under the guise of “freedom” and “Christianity”. Banning books is not freedom. Restricting reproductive rights is not freedom. Restricting voting rights or banning elections altogether is not freedom. Hating already marginalized people (gay and people of color) so much that you want to further marginalize them is not “Christian”. Calling Liberals “vermin” because they think differently and desire equality is not “Christian” or “freedom”, in fact it’s downright Nazi Germany-ish.

I’m pretty sure Jesus said to love your neighbor. I’m not a practicing Christian and I don’t claim to be one, but those golden statues of Orange man at CPAC that revelers stopped to worship at are tantamount to the golden calf in the book of Exodus. They are Pharoah’s people. It’s blasphemy and idolatry. I don’t know what it’s going to take for them to stop playing with God since the biblical disease of leprosy started surging in Florida in 2022 and that didn’t stop them.

I really don’t understand how this race could be so tight in the year of our lord 2024. It’s quite clear that the GOP has sold its soul and lost its way. It’s hard to imagine that this racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic party was once deemed the “Party of Lincoln”. Yeah, yeah yeah, “The democrats founded the KKK”. Ok, but whose rallies has David Duke gone to? Who has the KKK endorsed in the past two elections? Which party was holding signs telling Barack Obama to “hang in there” and hanging him in effigy outside of the White House? Which side loves to fly the Confederate Flag? It ain’t the Democrats.

I’m an Independent. Do I think either party is perfect? Hell no. But from where I stand as a woman and person of color, I only see one party that clearly wants to send me back potentially 150 years. And that’s why I won’t be quiet.

A family friend said that I have “hate in my heart” because I confronted him about his fucked up and hypocritical views as former military and having African American friends but being willing to cast a ballot for the guy who stole classified documents, fomented an insurrection because he lost, heaps praise on the enemies of the United States (Russia, NoKO, China), and openly is planning to take away the rights of his African American best friend. Nobody is more hateful than the GOP base.

That’s all they have. It’s really sad that this party lacks ideas on how to make life better for American citizens so they must force their antiquated points of view on us by turning America into Russia or North Korea. They complain about the cost of living but the GOP led House won’t bring a bill up to assist working Americans. Instead they are working on a bill to name the Atlantic coast after their cult leader.

Now, I’m not casting aspersions on all Conservatives because I know there are some who are anti Orange man. I’m just talking about the red hat wearers. I feel sorry for them honestly. Listening to Charlie Kirk or any of those goons on the station that lost $790 million for lying about the previous election would make critical thinking hard for anyone.

The thing is, they can choose not to be hateful. They can can choose not to swallow lies. Unfortunately, they choose ignorance and bigotry — so much so that they don’t care about democracy or treason to the United States.

And before you jump in the comments section calling me a “globalist”, “Marxist”, “Commie” — do yourself a favor and look up what those words mean. That’s another thing. These people are so ignorant that they’re afraid of words because they’re multi-syllable and “sound scary”. We fear what we don’t know. That’s the bottom line.

Side note: I have no problem being called a globalist because I don’t mind understanding the interconnectedness of the world and I support global trade agreements that lower the cost of goods. Trump’s tariffs plan and isolationist policies would make inflation exponentially worse especially since most goods and materials to make them are imported. Again, we fear what we don’t know.

I don’t have hate in my heart. I have fear in my heart. I fear for myself and future generations if we sleepwalk ourselves into an autocracy because of apathy and misinformation. I guess the warrior in me feels compelled to try to educate those I know who haven’t been paying attention somehow and maybe if I’m lucky, talk some sense into those I don’t know. I would be less fearful if we didn’t have a 6-3 partisan Supreme Court.

Everything the right wants to do is very 1984 and Fahrenheit 451. If you haven’t read those books, I suggest you do so before they’re banned because that’s the dystopian plot. We the people need to reject the divisiveness, blatant lies/misinformation, and attack on education coming from that side of the aisle if we are to survive as a nation. We have to hold these truths to be self-evident that all men and women are created equal regardless of race, sexual orientation or whether they have kids or not. We have to meet the moment and tell them in the words of Kamala Harris: “We won’t go back”.
